The English form of the breed which are more house pets, and the American form of the breed which thought history have been working, and farm dogs. Marley happened to fall under the category of the American version of the breed, which by the American Kennel Club says that the breed is known for being very social and didn't like being left alone, their energy, muscular stature, and very physically strong. This being John's fear, after meeting the father at the breeders house, he hopes Marley would be calm like his mother.

After Marley spends his first night at the Grogan house one thing is realized, that he cannot stand to be left alone. So that meant that sleeping in the garage, or as otherwise known as the indestructible bunker, was out of the question. Introduction and Characters

" The Life and Love of the Worlds Worst Dog"

Marley & Me is a sad, heartfelt, and loveable story about a family and their dopy, goof-ball, dog named Marley. John and Jenny Grogran were just begenning their life together. They had everything a young coulpe could have asked for, a cute litle house, good jobs, and they had eachother. They wanted just one more thing, a puppy. From that day forward thier lives were changed forever.

They brought home Marley, a wiggly yellow furball of a puppy. He gew up quickily into a full grown 97 pound crazy fur ball. He crashed through screen doors, gouged through drywall, flung drool on guests, and ate nearly everything he could get his mouth around. Obedience school didnt do any good, he was expelled after the first few classes. Medication was no relief to him either, and he was still off the walls when a thunderstorm rolled by. However in the end, he was probably the most loyal dog that the family had ever known.
